Sofitel Frankfurt Opera - Luxury hotel - FRANKFURT FASHION LOUNGE AT THE SOFITEL FRANKFURT OPERA

FRANKFURT FASHION LOUNGE AT THE SOFITEL FRANKFURT OPERA

RUNWAY SHOWS, MENTORING OF YOUNG TALENTS AND PANEL TALKS ON SUSTAINABLE FASHION

From June 30th to July 1st 2023, Sofitel Frankfurt Opera once again became a hotspot for fashion lovers.  The hotel offered a varied program of fashion events that combined fashion and sustainability.  For the fifth anniversary, the Frankfurt Fashion Lounge was able to win the former Germany’s Next Topmodel winner and native Hessin Kim Hnizdo as an ambassador for the promotion of young people and again as a moderator. The Wertheim Village was also a new partner of the FFL, presenting the first show of the fashion weekend on June 30th in the Schönemann restaurant.

The Frankfurt Fashion Lounge (FFL) began with a spectacular pre-opening event in the Schönemann restaurant. Guests experienced a catwalk show, followed by a flying buffet and refreshing drinks. The first show of the fashion weekend was presented by the FFL’s new partner, the designer outlet Wertheim Village. The official opening of the fifth Frankfurt Fashion Lounge took place on July 1st. Kim Hnizdo, the FFL’s new ambassador for the promotion of young talent, moderated the grand opening show. From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., fashion lovers had the opportunity to attend six runway shows. Numerous up-and-coming designers such as Deepika Khatri presented their latest collections. In addition, the hotel transformed its Le Marais ballroom into a designer boutique where fashion lovers could purchase unique pieces from the runway shows. In addition, the Frankfurt Fashion Lounge created a presentation and communication area for brands with this showroom and enabled an intensive exchange between designers and interested parties.

Another highlight of the Frankfurt Fashion Lounge were the talk panels on sustainable fashion, where leading representatives of the fashion industry come together to discuss the future of sustainable fashion. At a get-together for those interested in fashion, influencers and journalists, the FFL offered members of Frankfurt’s fashion industry networking and exchange opportunities.

The promotion of young talent has been particularly important to the Frankfurt Fashion Lounge since it was founded. The mentoring program for Hessen designers took place again this year. As part of this program, the FFL, together with the Frankfurt  School of Fashion, the Frankfurt Economic Development Agency and the Tailor’s Guild, called on 13 young talents to create works inspired by the late star designer Paco Rabanne from recycled materials, which renowned designers then evaluated. The winner received prize money of a thousand euros and the opportunity to present their collection at the Fashion Lounge. In addition, they can take part in a three-month mentoring program together with the second and third place winners, in which experienced designers support and promote the up-and-coming talent. After the competition, 21 students from the School of Fashion and Clothing in Frankfurt presented another fashion show on the subject of Colourboration.
