ALEPH ART GALLERY OPENS NEW ART COOPERATION AS GUEST GALLERY AT SOFITEL FRANKFURT OPERA
Contemporary Art in Dialogue with the French Art de Vivre
Sofitel Frankfurt Opera is delighted to unveil a new artistic collaboration with Aleph Art Gallery, presenting the hotel as a Guest Gallery for contemporary art. The partnership launches with a curated exhibition showcased in a distinguished corner of the elegant hotel lobby, inviting guests and visitors alike to encounter contemporary artworks in close dialogue with Sofitel’s architecture, design, and refined atmosphere.
Rooted in Sofitel’s French Art de Vivre, this collaboration creates a sophisticated cultural setting in which contemporary artistic practices unfold beyond the traditional gallery space—where hospitality, cultural exchange, and artistic expression meet in harmony. The hotel lobby becomes not only a place of arrival, but also a space of discovery, reflection, and inspiration.
The exhibition introduces the work of emerging international artist Oliwia Kacprzak. Her series States of the City explores the contrasting emotional landscapes of urban life through gestural abstraction and action-based painting. Inspired by the legacy of Jackson Pollock and shaped by her time in New York, Kacprzak’s practice investigates movement, rhythm, and psychological atmospheres through layered mark-making and intuitive techniques, capturing the dynamic pulse and inner tensions of the contemporary metropolis.
Also featured is Karen Shahverdyan, a German-Armenian visual artist living and working in Germany. His practice is distinguished by a remarkable mastery of Old Masters techniques—yet he employs this virtuosity not as an end in itself, but as a precise instrument for exploring contemporary ideas. With hyperreal clarity and a subtle surrealist charge, Shahverdyan creates images that exist between the familiar and the enigmatic. Landscapes, architecture, skies, and figures appear with striking detail, while symbolic elements and unexpected juxtapositions introduce layers of ambiguity, inviting viewers to reconsider the boundaries between reality and fiction, tradition and modernity.
Over the coming months, Aleph Art Gallery will continue to curate and present additional artists within the Sofitel setting, expanding the programme with new artistic perspectives and carefully curated exhibitions—further enriching the cultural experience at Sofitel Frankfurt Opera.
